UK Loves Criminals

The UK embassy in Moscow offers a VIP service for visa seekers. If you want to receive special treatment from the embassy employees that will ensure everybody knows you are not one of common folks, all you need to do is pay the equivalent of $230. The VIP service offers the following conveniences:

1. A VIP accesses the embassy through a separate entrance lest the VIP’s tender sensibilities get hurt by encountering the nasty, smelly proles who access the embassy in a regular, not Very Important manner.

2. A VIP gets a personal assistant to help him or her fill out the paperwork. It simply won’t do to make somebody this important do any work.

3. A VIP is offered high-quality refreshments to help pass the time.

I hope I don’t need to explain to which social group in Russia people who can spend $230 on something like this belong. (If I do, see the post’s title.)

The UK makes sure visitors know from the start what kind of people the country appreciates.

  1. The UK should remember, if they screwed their own country for sure they’ll screw yours.

The British government is easily one of the most hateful of the ‘developed’ countries.

They’re so determined to fill their country with primitive religious fanatics and filthy rich thieves.

      – They really are. It’s like this huge social experiment that we are observing. And everybody knows what the result will be except those who are conducting it.

By the way, we saw the last episode of Season 6 of mad Men last night. And you are absolutely right, this could have definitely been the finale of the entire show. The moment when Peggy sat in Don’s chair was very symbolic.

I have no idea what they can come up with for Season 7. Unless there will be a romance between Peggy and Don. There were some hints throughout Season 6 that this was possible.

      1. I hope there’s no Peggy and Don romance. For me their relationship works best as an analog to the Don and Anna relationship (where Anna was sort of a mother substitute for the horrible (step)mother he really had). Peggy’s more like a kid sister and it would take a lot of work for a Don Peggy pairing to not gross me out as incest.

If, as seems likely, his marriage to Megan is legally (as opposed to only spiritually) over I can’t think of any current cast he should be with (maybe Dr Faye from the past but most viewers apparently didn’t like her).

A Don and Joan relationship might be interesting given the chemistry they had in season 5 but I don’t think it would be good for either one of them.
