Wedding Dress

BFF suggested the following as a wedding dress for me:

I could totally see myself in it. BTW, I’m buying a house and having a wedding. Because why the hell not?

  1. Congratulations!

I’d like to know what changed your mind re: home ownership. Unless you’re paying for the whole thing in cash, in which case never mind.

    1. No, there will be a mortgage and we are seeing a mortgage broker on Saturday.

What happened is that I contemplated “life’s essential brevity” and realized I want to be somebody else for a change. And after I started going to a spinning class twice a week, a mortgage is nothing. ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. The translation at the link is horrendously bad.

  2. CONGRATS!!! I was married recently and we didn’t have any guests at our wedding–it was just us–no family; no friends. But it was truly a wedding–(i.e. not done at an American court; a true ceremony; we were somewhere astoundingly beautiful; flowers; special food etc etc). And it was so deeply meaningful in ways I didn”t anticipate. It was one of the most wonderful days of my life. I wish you experience something similar. I know you will. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ CONGRATS/.

    1. No, congratulations to you, you got married, that’s wonderful!!!

The original wedding was like yours, but now N just said he wanted a more traditional ceremony, and I thought about it and decided I don’t mind.

  3. Wow Clarissa!. Daughter said that you will be “la novia de America”. And what about “el novio de America”?. What’s he going to be wearing?. Congratulations and good luck with your house search.

  4. OK, thank you, everybody, but this isn’t really something worthy of congratulations. We’ve been married for years, so this wedding will simply be a celebration, that’s all.

I feel like an impostor accepting congratulations because I decided to have a party. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. It’s just a party, there is no need for congratulations. Although I do want to have an officiant. Or maybe even do it in a church.

” When can we expect you joining the Republicans?”

      – No, that’s too tame. Maybe some sort of an armed, ultra-Libertarian militia. I could also become a homesteader. After I find out what that means, of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. After what you have written about nationalism, I was surprised to see the dress. Will you put American flags on the wedding car and house windows to accomodate the gown? ๐Ÿ™‚ Israeli flag for my dress would seem too uber-nationalistic for me, what kind of meaning do you attach to it?

    1. This is a joke made by my BFF. It’s funny precisely because of my attitude to flags and such things.

I’m not going to wear this dress, of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. I am usually in Montreal from F to M, every week. So yes, if you have some time (pehaps on Monday, after you have spent time with your family) lets talk!
In Canada, as you know, our reading week is earlier, this week in fact.

It is going to be a patriotic biker wedding. I fell in love with that gown the moment I laid my eyes on it!! Can you PLEASE help?
