I thought I’d never laugh this hard ever again but then I saw this phenomenal Russian poster in my blogroll and almost collapsed with laughter. I was on the bus, and other passengers thought I needed medical help because I was making choking noises and tears were streaming down my face. I immediately sent the link to my husband and sister, as the only Russian-speakers I know who might appreciate this. They both hate profanity, so I’m preparing for a lecture on my strange sense of humor later today.
In the meanwhile, I translated the poster for those of you who don’t speak Russian. It’s much funnier in Russian, though. Still, I tried. I hope there is somebody on this blog who shares my sense of humor. Press CTRL and + together to make the poster larger, if needed.

Inept masculinity is far from charming, but one should never, ever succumb to pity to the degree that one is emotionally manipulated by this nonsense. The inept males I have met want you to bridge the gap between your inferiority and their greatness, so I always try to get them to articulate their needs more clearly, indeed up until infinity. I say, “I’m not understanding you yet. Can you articulate your needs more clearly?”

Yes, what works is to try to get them to bring their emotional and hysterical responses into the realm of reason and facts. Of course, that elicits even more emotional and hysterical responses.

Oh, if they are half way reasonable that works. But in a sadistic mood, I like to leave them stranded (after all, this is exactly what they were trying on me). I inform them that their language isn’t working anymore and that if they keep trying and trying they may eventually be able to please me — but I doubt it.
