I get a text message from N, saying: “Kisses! Embraces! More kisses!”
My response: “Are you making a promise or informing me of your current activities during your lunch break?”

That’s cynical….
I could understand if you got a phone call and heard muffled voices in the background, but can a male really text coherently and receive that kind of pleasure at the same time?
Or have you considered he was on a Hershey’s chocolate binge?
