The Murder

So the killer didn’t just shoot Michael Brown. He sprayed the teenager with bullets. AND – all of the wounds could have been survived except for the last shot in the head.

The “control” shot in the head is evidence of a conscious desire to kill. I hope this murderer rots in jail.

      1. Aww, look at you being so concerned about IMMIGRANT merchants. So cute. The same immigrants, who in your words ‘destroy the cohesion’ amongst the countries they immigrate to, making them less white (I forget what other garbage you wrote about non-white immigrants). It gives you a sad, I know. 😦

Cliff wanted to talk about Michael Brown’s character earlier. Now he’s moved on to IMMIGRANT merchants being looted by thugs. It’s all very telling.

I’ll repeat what I wrote earlier.

It’s like the racists just can’t stand criticism of the police in this story, so now they turn to character assassination. Not directly, of course, that would be gauche. Just subtle enough.

“It doesn’t make rapist’s behavior a right one, of course. but we do want to point out that the original media narrative portraying the girl as a sweet, christian girl next door turns out to be total bullshit. She was known to have given blowjobs to two different men a few hours earlier. Just pointing that out. Of course rape is bad. But we’re reserving all our energy to counter the media narrative that she was pure as driven snow. SHE WASN’T AND THE WHOLE WORLD SHOULD KNOW THAT IN THE INTEREST OF THE TRUTH! That’s where we feel our efforts should focus on. Of course rape is bad. We’re just interested in the complete truth”.

        You people fool nobody. 🙂

      2. Stop projecting.

I have no particular dog in the Brown/Ferguson issue. I’ve mostly stayed quiet until more information has come out.

Your hysterical outbursts about rape are completely off topic.

Immigrants who are against integration and/or assimilation do weaken social cohesion in societies (mostly a western european phenomenon at present) and could not have less to do with this issue.

My best guess given what’s known: Brown did this crime and then is feeling itchy and pugnacious when the cop stops him (in Brown’s mind possibly for the robbery) things escalated and got out of hand as things do when people with guilty consciences act aggressively toward the police*. I’m not sure if Wilson deserves punishment for killing Brown, he may well deserve it and I hope he receives any punishment due.

On the other hand, the rioting has so far accomplished……….. ???????

Who’s going to invest in that neighborhood now? Would you open up a business there?

Part of me realizes that the self-destructive behavior is partly created and maintained by social factors beyond the residents’ control but still…… what has the rioting and looting accomplished?

*this is universal you get aggressive with the police at your own risk.

I’ll go back to being quiet about this issue now pending more information.

  1. Dr. Baden, who conducted the autopsy, gave a press conference earlier. He pointed to a pattern of shots on inner palm, inner arm and head (including top of head). One of the shots on the arm could have come from behind (though they can’t tell for sure). No signs of struggle on Brown or gun residue so far that would indicate any close range shooting/scuffle. The autopsy doesn’t at this point contradict what witnesses have reported of hands up in the air or even first shots fired from behind (there are also reports of missed shots, including a bullet dug out of a nearby building…)

  2. Call me paranoid, but I’m wondering who stands to financially benefit from many of the businesses leaving the area. I find it incredibly suspicious that protestors actually held off some looters while the police didn’t — while in riot gear on tanks no less. The police and law enforcement are doing everything they can to make the situation as dangerous and volatile as possible and pretty much exactly what you’d do if you really wanted destruction

Here’s what I see happening: Businesses leave. The current owners and landlords sell their property in a fire sale. Some wealthy developer picks up the properties for a song. Some time later somebody uses the cheap properties to expand the reach of a gentrified neighborhood. Are there any really wealthy suburbs or St. Louis neighborhoods that have recently gentrified near Ferguson?

    1. Clarification: I don’t see a conspiracy per se, but I see some people exacerbating the situation or letting it deteriorate opportunistically. I also don’t know the St. Louis area or Ferguson so I don’t how likely that chain of events is likely to happen.

    1. Fired?? Since when firing is a fitting punishment for murder?

The autopsy has shown there was a control shot fired into the victim’s head. What else is there to discuss? This was premeditated murder. The bastard should rot in jail.

      1. Even though there is ample evidence the cop murdered Michael Brown, I highly doubt he will ever see the inside of a jail cell for any sentence, sadly. In the event there’s a trial it will be moved to some lily white conservative suburb and the jury will be populated with people who love cops and authoritarians.

In the event the cop does see the inside of a jail cell, it will be for the lowest degree of murder.

  3. I’m not surprised at the racist reactions in general. I’m surprised at the racist reactions over here. How could anyone read your blog and think it would be ok to post their illiterate rubbish here? Your blog is inhospitable to cretins because it is neither a right wing echo chamber where they can be comfortable in their racism, nor is it a massive site like youtube where they can blend in with the crowd, yell ‘NIGGER’ and run away without staking out any position.

Your blog provides an entirely different experience to the reader. I lurked for quite a while before I started to comment. It’s very intimate and I love that you respond to all comments. The one obvious result of this close interaction between the author and the commentators is that idiots are found out very quickly; they just can’t hang. Which is why it is surprising to see comments that are flat-out alien to the ethos of this blog. It’s probably a temporary thing, and I’m sure they’ll get bored and seek greener pastures soon enough.

    1. I am absolutely shocked and horrified at the discoveries I made in these two threads. It is incredible to me that people can actually make all of these comments about polite Indian programmers, crack mammas, articulate blacks, angry Pakistani dentists and unwelcome immigrants seriously. Do they not understand that all they do is roll in the mud and show themselves to be subhuman, substandard, abnormal and diseased? Do they not see that their comments achieve no other goal? What makes them want to degrade themselves like this?

I knew this was a deeply racist society but I had no idea to what extent. I’m glad I found out.

Now that I have found out what I needed, I’m issuing a general warning that anybody who makes a comment I deem even remotely racist will see their fucking ass kicked off the blog in two seconds.

      1. Hmmm, I do not know what I would have done if I was attacked by somebody almost half again my weight and that intended my harm, but I suspect that I would have probably given him the entire magazine. And if he did not stop, I would have reloaded and gave him all of that too….and continued until he was no risk.

Afraid again, we are going to have to agree to disagree.

“Among the many relevant facts for any African-American negotiating their relationship with the police the following stands out: The police departments of America are endowed by the state with dominion over your body. I came home at the end of this summer to find that dominion had been. This summer in Ferguson and Staten Island we have seen that dominion employed to the maximum ends—destruction of the body. This is neither new nor extraordinary. It does not matter if the destruction of your body was an overreaction. It does not matter if the destruction of your body resulted from a misunderstanding. It does not matter if the destruction of your body springs from foolish policy. Sell cigarettes without proper authority and your body can be destroyed. Resent the people trying to entrap your body and it can be be destroyed. Protect the home of your mother and your body can be destroyed. Visit the home of your young daughter and your body will be destroyed. The destroyers of your body will rarely be held accountable. Mostly they will receive pensions. ”

    Worth reading the whole thing.

  5. Many people don’t realize that US police training is “shoot to kill”.
By the time a police officer is shooting their intention is to kill. The standard training is two shots to the center body mass and one to the head. It’s wrapped up in “shoot to stop” terminology but the entire aim of US police gun use is to kill whoever they’re shooting at.

(nb I’m just passing it along so people know. Before people start fantasizing that I’m a police groupie – My family trained me to regard police roughly the same way we did rattlesnakes – part of the natural order but one which is inherently dangerous and which you don’t wanna mess with. Leave them alone and hopefully they’ll return the favor. If you do find yourself in the same vicinity try to not do anything to alarm them.)

    1. Cliff, when did this start? Because what I was taught as a child was that they weren’t — they were supposed to shoot to disable — unless they were the riot squad or some other militarized unit (this was before we had the militarized police we have now). Was it actually always this way and I just did not know it, or is the shoot to kill policy from more recent decades?

      1. I have no idea. I was clueless about this too until a couple years ago (related to reading about a very different case in another country). That’s where I first found out that police are typically trained to aim at the biggest target (the torso). The head finishing shot is something I find out about even more recently (maybe six or so months ago).

The militarization of US police is something I’ve known about for a few years.

  6. “Leave them alone and hopefully they’ll return the favor.”

    If you’re white.

As for the argument that the officer was merely performing his duty by shooting the kid in the head, aren’t they supposed to do that only in the case of imminent danger to their life? I guess being black is a weapon in itself, otherwise it’s some goddamn coincidence that only black teens induce this kind of fear in the police, supposedly trained in recognizing imminent danger. Reminds me of the Louis CK joke about how unarmed black people in america keep getting killed by the police. “It’s because their hands look like guns.”

Or, like you said, the police officer had to kill him because the black teen, ‘feeling itchy and pugnacious,’ acting under the burden of his ‘guilty conscience’ reacted aggressively toward the police.

This, you say, ‘is known’! Known!

So much certainty about the dead black kid’s responsibility for his own murder. You gave him a guilty conscience, even! Yet, you’re ‘not sure if Officer Wilson deserves punishment.’ Love your selective skepticism there, Cliffy boy.
