I’ve been expecting it, and today it finally happened. A deer jumped out of the woods right in front of my car.

I’m very proud that I managed to cause no damage to the dear or anybody else in this situation.

So you, the deer, any other cars/pedestrians and the car are fine?

This is like a rite of passage where I grew up. You may see some deer wander by your creek if you haven’t already.

I think that in most states, if someone else hits a deer with a car it is legal to collect and butcher it. Venison is delicious. Years ago I knew a man who was a vegetarian except for road-kill deer. He used their skins to make wonderful drums!
