The sheer number of overfed pseudo – Liberal dudes publishing detailed mea culpas on how they used to love The Wire but now, after the recent Baltimore riots, no longer do is staggering.
It’s hilarious how they don’t see that this extreme form of narcissism is not cute. The desire to make everything in the world about themselves is not original. It is infantile and often pathological. Only a self-besotted fool will use what happened in Baltimore to blab for hours about his decade – old entertainment choices.
I’m sure that the idiots who write these pieces actually think they are performing a socially valuable activity this way. Stupid losers.

We are less politically active, so we finished season 4 last night. As everyone might have guessed, I found it particularly interesting because of the pedagogy angle. And the part where Colvin takes the kids to a restaurant reminded of a very similar experience I had with my high-schoolers back in CT. Only I had 24 of them. 🙂

As someone who lives in Baltimore and works less than a block from where some of the riots were going on, I’m finding the commentary annoying as well. And you put your finger right on the real problem. I don’t object to anyone anywhere in the world giving their opinion on what happened if they have something worthwhile to say, but 99% of what’s appeared online has been “Let’s make this all about me”
The same thing happened after the Charlie Hebdo murders. For some people, everything is just another occasion to preform their identity as Right Thinking People(TM) for whatever audience they think is paying attention.
