So it seems that American Idol will be cancelled after next season, and I say, good riddance! The only good part about this show were the first two episodes of each season that featured horrible singers convinced they had talent. Their self-delusion was entertaining but got repetitive after a while.
Other than that, I never saw any value to the show.

I could never get into American Idol or any of the the talent shows of the last decade because I associated it with being small and stuck with a baby sitter whose idea of babysitting was to force me to sit on the couch and watch tv. My brother and I weren’t allowed to leave the room or change the channel or do something else in the room, and she had absolutely no interest in talking to me, period. She would sit there and knit giant sweaters while watching Star Search and I loathed it.
