A Christian Store Owner

The lady from around the block finally fulfilled her dream and opened a small boutique of her own. She is a very religious person, so she had her priest over to bless the boutique.

This is an actual believing Christian, though, and not one of those screaming hysterics whose true object of worship is their freedom to hate. She asked the priest over on a Monday, the boutique’s day of rest when no employees are there.

“This is a private thing, between me and God,” she says. “I don’t want to make a spectacle of something so private. Besides, it’s wrong to force the employees to be present. They shouldn’t feel pressured to compromise their own beliefs just because I’m paying their salary.”

  1. This was a great post! Very uplifting. Best of luck to your neighbor in her business endeavor.

And you put this so well, how for many people “[the] true object of worship is their freedom to hate.”
