This is a gift that Russian comrades brought to Lugansk, the Ukrainian city where I was born. It’s a statue of Stalin, in case you are not sure.
The whole region where Lugansk is located has been devastated by the war, and for what? To bring a stupid, ugly ass statue of Stalin and plop it in the middle of the city?
Stupid fuckers.

Strangely it doesn’t seem to be a very prominent place. It seems to be tucked away in a corner.

Russians don’t have money right now for big, ostentatious things. The ruble keeps tanking.

Fun note: Instead of “Stalin,” I read at first “Satan comes to Lugansk.” 🙂

A request for a post: In your post “Stalin’s Biographies” you wrote down 11 foundational questions and said in the comments that you will answer them and “have so much to say about all these questions.” However, you have not written about the issue yet. May you write about it one day? I am especially interested in his relationship with Lenin, being stupid/bright and paranoid (or not). I have some info about the issues, but am intersted in your take on the man. Would be interested in your view of Lenin too.
Here is the post:

Anything serious will have to wait until I finish my work. Which, if everything goes well, will be December 31.
