What’s really bizarre is that in St Louis, where we barely ever have snow and only 5 sad little inches were expected, the local authorities knew that the roads had to be salted in advance. In Washington, DC, on the other hand, it was a total surprise yesterday that it’s important to prepare for a snow storm.
This is our snow, by the way:

Yeh, Wednesday evening was predicted as only flurries, and the authorities ignored it. Turned out to be just enough flurries to glaze the roads with ice. It’s almost enough to make me join the Tea Party. Can’t wait to see what the fractured governments of the D.C. region do when the big one hits Friday and Saturday.
