We Need to Vote for Hillary

Obama’s presidency advanced a great number of liberal causes. Economy, healthcare reform, foreign policy, Cuba, Iran. Even gay marriage is now reality.

One area of human existence, however, saw no liberal advances whatsoever during the Obama years. To the contrary, it suffered one major blow after another. That area of life is women’s rights. Reproductive rights are in the toilet, parental leave is not on anybody’s radar, things for women have been getting worse during the presidency of our most liberal leader so far.

As the example of every country with strong achievements on women’s rights demonstrates, the only way to get pro-women policies in place is by electing a large number of women. Women always defend everybody else’s rights but nobody ever stands up for women’s rights except women.

Women, we need to vote for Hillary. Enough with trying to service men and responding to the unquenchable male needs. Enough with being apologetic for our needs. It’s the twenty-first century and it’s time to put ourselves first.

      1. Good point. In Europe we’ve all been watching the Trump saga with mouths open in disbelief, which is now turning to horror. Everything else about the election seems to have been forgotten. Hilary must win the selection process and the election, nothing else will work for women, in the US or the rest of the world.

At this stage, Trump is not her opponent, Bernie Sanders is.

“the election, nothing else will work for women, in the US or the rest of the world.”

Why? while I want Clinton to win the general (at present) I’m not that clear on the connection between womens’ rights and female heads of state. Angela Merkel did more damage to womens’ de facto rights with a single decision last September than conservative US voters have done in the last …. how many years?

          1. After all, Margaret Thatcher , Golda Meir, and Indira Gandhi were all great champions of women’s rights while they were in power, right?

    1. Seriously? Obama’s accomplishments are Iran and Cuba? So now Iran has received billions of dollars of my tax money and they still are violating the terms which where basically walking all over us laughing. Iran simply took the money and to appease the inspectors have outsourced research to North Korea. But then the problem with liberals is that you love the headlines and ignore the detail and back story. Cuba continues to imprison and torture those who speak out against the cuban communist dictators. What has changed. Sure sure…lets see if suddenly the Evil Castor brothers will bring some new freedoms to the island, but I highly doubt it.

What Obama has given us is a European lackluster 2% at best economy with his crippling regulations and government handouts. Hillary….seriously this is the best Democrats can do? A liar who has nothing but disdain for the citizens of this country who went so far to set up a PRIVATE server in her basement so she could control the PUBLIC RECORD, stealing historical documents from Americans, Avoiding FOIA requests so that we the CITIZENS cannot find out the truth? She is also the author of the disastrous foreign policy that has left the world on fire. And lets not forget the famous Russian Rest or I mean “Overvoltage” where she couldnt even get that right, but non the less it proved to be exactly right, and the Russian reset was nothing short of a disaster with them laughing at us as they invaded the Ukraine.

And lets not forget Benghazi where neither she nor the “president” lifted a finger to help them even though the fighting went on for over 8 hours, and no one has ever explained where Obama was the whole time….smoking dope goes the rumor mill, which I would not doubt it. Hillary the liar (95% of Dem voters called her DISHONEST in the primary) told her daughter it was a planned terrorist act, but she told the victims families is was a spontaneous riot brought on by a video which was a pure lie…..the guy that did the video even ended up in jail as the political fall guy for the Clinton/Obama fiasco.

Im not sure what is worse, the fact that you Democrats are willing to overlook what a deceptive liar she is to the American people, or that your second choice is a self avowed SOCIALIST!

No I’m sorry, even with all the political theater surrounding Trump or others, I will take ANY of the GOP candidates over a LIAR or a SOCIALIST. I want this country back on track with the CONSTITUTION as the road map before all is lost.

All you young people with few job opportunities or lack of options, it WAS NOT ALWAYS like this….you can blame the Liberal left for slowly turning us into Europe, and if you dont start fighting back then you deserve what you get.

And finally you say that your not even a citizen, then what can you possibly contribute or understand about America, or what on earth do you even care. If its so bad for you here, then stay or go to your lousy country.

If you cant understand why the grass roots revolt with Trump, then thats because you dont understand that Americans are fed up with you pathetic sniffling liberals who have been destroying this country for years.

  1. I think it’s about picking the leader you can make optimally uncomfortable in the process of asserting rights. Your post makes more sense if you’re urging people to vote for progressive women at the local, state and federal levels (Congress). I don’t trust any leader to do so since wealth and power mitigates much of the ill effects of systematic discrimination. My well connected cousins are fine. Chelsea Clinton is fine. It’s not a coincidence Lily Ledbetter was a blue collar worker. Nobody in this election will lead on this.

If you really care about this, you should be doing election protection, voter drives and GOTV. The people most likely to turn out and vote in the general election are the people most targeted by restrictive voter laws and voter intimidation.

Hillary will win the nomination because Bernie is throwing up his hands at the idea of trying to get black people to vote for him. No Democrat wins the White House without the black vote.

    Consider:

    http://www.newyorker.com/news/john-cassidy/whats-up-with-white-women-they-voted-for-romney-too

Indeed, as a proportion of the total, more white women voted for Romney on Tuesday than voted for George W. Bush, in 2004, or for John McCain, in 2008….Here are some figures from this year’s exit poll, which the Edison Research company conducts for a consortium of media companies, and from previous ones. In 2004, Bush got fifty-five per cent of the white female vote, and Kerry got forty-four per cent—a “reverse gender gap” (one working in the G.O.P.’s favor) of eleven points. In 2008, McCain got fifty-three per cent of the white female vote, and Obama got forty-six per cent—a gap of seven points.

  2. I agree with you wholeheartedly. While Clinton may not represent a “magic bullet” for women’s issue, she’s the best chance we have. And countless liberal male politicians have demonstrated that they are willing to punt on women’s issues when things get contentious. Ginsburg, Kagan, and Sotomayer’s comments on the Supreme Court regarding abortion rights nicely demonstrate that women are far more likely to stand up for women’s rights than men. I think we have reached a moment where women’s liberties needs to be an executive priority and I think Clinton is the most likely candidate to make them a priority.

    1. Exactly. We keep waiting and waiting but all we see is an erosion of women’s rights. It’s the 21st century, and we are still refighting the battles of the 1970s. It’s time to put ourselves first.

  3. Regarding women’s rights, I was surprised to discover that in Israel

Public sector discriminates women more than private, data shows

Data from the Social Equality Ministry’s reveals that men earn 32 percent more than women do, and in the public sector the wage gap is even greater where men earn 36 percent more. Women “lead” among the recipients of governmental income support – 42.4 percent of women, compared to 29.4 percent of men.

The situation is also discouraging in local government. Only 2.7 percent of the heads of local authorities are women. There are 341 females serving as elected officials in local authorities, 14.7 percent of all elected officials. This represents an increase of about 30 percent from 2008.

Interesting whether the same is true for USA (regarding public vs private sectors).
