I thought N would like the show Numbers because one of the characters is a mathematician but he hated it for that very reason. He doesn’t like the sacred name of mathematics to be taken in vain.

Clarissa, you clearly mistyped – the show’s actual name is “Numb3rs”, which really should tell you all you need to know about it. I’m not a mathematician, and I think I only saw a single a scene from that show, but even so, foaming-at-the-mouth rage still blots out most of the memory. Nothing quite gets you going as well as condescending, ill-informed explanations. Numerology might’ve been a better name for the show.
You may want to try Mr. Robot instead. It’s hair-pulling in different ways, but it takes a lot more care with the little details of the craft it represents.

You probably will want to avoid the Spanish movie (La habitación de Fermat). On its own it’s actually pretty entertaining but its wildlyinnacurate and hilariously awful visions of mathematicians and academics will probably drive you both crazy.
