Turns out “pro-life, pro-guns” is not a sarcastic dig at Republicans. I just saw an ad for a MO politician who advertises himself this way, seemingly oblivious of the weirdness of this self-definition.
I typically see this on bumper stickers on huge trucks with confederate flags.

Yes, political argot which is shorthand for positions does tend to short-circuit thought.
At this point I feel like I’m getting diminishing returns by actively monitoring political news as my IQ slides toward room temperature in DC.
