It’s Clear

I was a political blank slate when I came to the continent. Unlike most people, I wasn’t made a Democrat or a Republican by my parents, friends, or college buddies. None of the political issues that are important here were even comprehensible to me. Where I grew up, abortion rights, gun rights, gay rights, taxes, budget deficits, racism, welfare, school prayer, unions, college debt, creationism, immigration, etc were as relevant as the weather in a neighboring galaxy.

I only started reading an American newspaper regularly a year ago and watching news on TV more often than once a month 2 years ago. I’m unsociable and don’t discuss US politics with anybody on an even semi-regular basis So my political preferences are as untainted as one can hope for. It’s like I came from another planet, looked at things, and made a choice.

The choice is clear, people. And I don’t mean just today. If you look at evidence from an entirely unbiased position, it’s absolutely clear.

  1. And someday, when you’ll be more knowledgeable about this kind of pseudo-democratic politics, you’ll become very cynical about it like myself right now.

At least, in your case, you’ll become cynical about politics AFTER you join the academia, contrary to me.

I hate so much that kind of politics than it ruins almost all my chances in the academia because I’m unable to process that kind of fake mentality.

  2. Yes, you’re right — the political choice in America has come down to two choices:

Vote for an apolitical, egomaniacal sociopath who never thought that he’d ever get this far, but now sees no choice but to forge ahead, willing to take a chance on taking this country off the rails in totally uncharted and disastrous directions; or —

Vote for an equally egomaniacal sociopath who once was an idealist true believer, but who, tormented by people determined to destroy her and her husband, gradually turned into a paranoid creature totally devoid of principles, and willing to claim whatever lies are necessary to get elected.

I look at the two choices on my Presidential ballot this year, and notice that both of them are circled in black.

    1. “equally egomaniacal sociopath ”

lol at you. I don’t think there’s anything but misogyny that would explain this bizarre position.
