   I thought he did just enough for republicans to keep drinking his poison for now. Shored up his base but didn’t add any new voters to his side (which he desperately needs). So the polls widening is a pleasant surprise.

      In order to remain a Trump supporter at this point, you’ve got to be completely shameless and not even want to pretend that you are not. So followers are falling off. I can imagine many families where women asked their husbands over the weekend, “THIS is what you support?”
