I do freelance editing sometimes. My services are typically $30 per hour. But I would not be available until Christmas or summer.

Hey, I’d totally rather the money went to you than to a stranger. I’ll need it done by January 15, so I guess it can wait until Christmas. I need the manuscript of my book changed from MLA to Chicago Style. Footnotes should go to endnotes and the bibliography has to be changed. I don’t need any proofreading, just the format change. I have the publisher’s style sheet as guidance. Would you be interested in doing it for $800? I think this is the amount I’d be able to get for it.

Yeah, I’d definitely be interested. Plus, hubby’s business always slows down around the holidays, so I could use the money. School ends for me officially on December 16, but I might be able to start it the previous weekend and work on it intermittently over the course of finals week and then into the following week, if necessary. I definitely could have it finished by Christmas. And if you want to go with a flat rate of $800, that would be easy. Or if you’d rather I do hourly, then that’s fine. Just let me know.
