Turns out that the turntable doesn’t make any but the quietest sounds without speakers. That have to be bought separately.
Totally dig the “and now buy a ton of extra shit to make your gadget work” thing.

I was told a long time ago (in building a stereo system) to buy the cheapest of everything except speakers (and don’t go crazy on them, but go a good bit better than the cheapest).
Not sure if that’s the case now….

I just bought the cheapest but even the cheapest speaker (1) cost $39.99. Because it has a bazillion skills I don’t need. But it’s pink, so it’s ok.

I plugged it into an outlet in a wall and it works. It shines with very bright colors, so it’s like a small disco. Which doesn’t really go with the kind of music I want to listen to but whatever, it was free.
