Baby and Time Change

Our Klara has already experienced two time changes, and what’s extremely strange is that her schedule adapts to the new time immediately. I have no idea how this works but she woke up today at her usual time and ate and went down for a nap exactly according to the regular schedule. Even though the time on the clock is one hour behind the time we’ve had for 6 months.

This means that we could benefit from the extra hour of sleep, which is something I hear many people with small children miss.

  1. So is Klara feeling better today, since she seems to have adjusted so easily to the time change?

(For the record, Arizona is the ONLY one of the lower 48 states that doesn’t go on daylight saving time, so we don’t have to reset our clocks twice as year.)

  2. Babies don’t know about clocks and they don’t sleep like adults for adult like stretches.
Also, the daylight time is decreasing every day, so that might be affecting her circadian rhythms. She probably used the extra time to rest because she was feeling cranky and out of sorts.
