Hey, folks, I just heard about this right now and I don’t know if it’s true. Is it true that questions from the CNN debate were passed to Hillary’s campaign in advance?? Or is it a clumsy?
Because if it’s true, that’s the kind of thing that would make me stay home on election day (if I were a voter.?
Yes. It was a primary debate with Sanders. The question itself was innocuous. It was about water quality at a debate held in Flint, Michigan. I mean, anyone could’ve seen it coming.
But yes, on principle, CNN’s Donna Brazille who was a Clinton surrogate (and now DNC chair, after DWS resigned) gave her the question in advance.
There was another question that was given to her about the death penalty. That was more critical, because I remember we were on this blog, absolutely stunned by how profound her answer was. She literally quoted scripture on the fly. The answer was so polished and she was so poised, and now we know why.

Oh, I thought it was a debate with Trump. Doesn’t matter, though. It’s still beyond disgusting.
I’m starting to understand the people who didn’t show up to vote.

They don’t call it a Clinton Machine for nothing.
I can’t believe she fucked up the most slam-dunk presidential election of all time.

‘..the clinton machine..’ ugh
Also, can we finally accept that presidential debates have zero impact on the outcome? It’s just another way for cable networks to fill time and make $$ by building all this suspense and then ‘analyzing’ debate performances ad nauseam.

Yeah. She beat him in every debate but so what? TV is dead. It’s all about who dominates the social media.

Anybody who has met a Trump voters knows that s/he would have crawled to the polls if their legs had been sawed off. They didn’t need a reminder to vote.

“would have crawled to the polls if their legs had been sawed off”
🙂 Loved the expression.
Democratic voters should follow their example, instead of listing 1001 reasons why their candidate is, of course, not the best choice.

Yeah. . . Although as I said, if I’d known about the debate questions, I might have not gone to vote. This is a deal breaker for me. If you are willing to subvert the process for something so tiny and meaningless, then the charges of being a “congenital liar” might be true.

What exactly is the source for this? I know Trump accused her of getting them in advance after the debate, but I’m pretty sure Trump would say anything. I, on the other hand, definitely had those questions in advance because I had been seeing people ask them on my Facebook page all week! Figuring out what questions are going to come up in a presidential debate isn’t exactly rocket science.

I’d like to know, too. Does anybody have a source? Is it another Trump calumny, maybe?

Pretty sure the source was the Podesta emails on wikileaks.
What’s ironic is that whoever passed the emails on to wikileaks they got them through a simple phishing email that any competent IT person would have seen trhu in about half a second.

I disagree.
The republican turnout was less than in 2012. They came out in larger numbers for milquetoast Romney. Which is why we need to be careful about calling it a Trump wave or whatever. Conservatives were so sick and tired of being called mean names by liberals so they…didn’t show up?
The difference is that more of Clinton’s people didn’t show up at the right places. 1% here, 1.5% there, and the election would’ve gone her way.

I disagree with Clarissa, I meant re: the trump voter turnout. el’s comment slipped in while I was writing mine.

Not all Republicans are Trump supporters. Many didn’t vote at all. Many voted but could have been persuaded not to if somebody had alloyed their fears. Trump had his 35% of fanatics. The rest were up for grabs. But fanatics would have voted no matter what.

Exactly, which is why her GOTV efforts should’ve been even better. But they massively fucked up there. She campaigned in Wisconsin exactly 0 times in the general election.
Good job, good effort!

I’d much rather he got the Nobel than Dylan. His lyrics are still pompous as hell but at least he had a nice voice.
Better yet, the Nobel should have gone to artist Pink. Good voice and not pompous.

I still do not, but have seen:
Israel mourns steadfast supporter Leonard Cohen
More beloved in Israel than other Jewish artists, the Canadian wordsmith and singer is memorialized by leaders and radio stations in a country that Cohen himself held near and dear.

Joni Mitchell!
Much more interesting musically and a much better lyricist than Dylan.
Beauty and madness to be praised
‘Cause it is not easy to be brave
To walk around in so much need
To carry the weight of all that greed
Dressed in stolen clothes she stands
Cast iron and frail
With her impossibly gentle hands
And her blood-red fingernails
Out of the fire and still smoldering
She says “A woman must have everything”
Shades of Scarlett conquering
She says “A woman must have everything”

Going back to my earlier comment, Clinton fucked up because she and her team made a strategic blunder in assuming that they didn’t need the white working class vote to win.
Now why they did that is an interesting question. That’s where our ‘bubble’ explanation comes in. Their team, composed of out-of-touch elites, thought everyone in the country would respond to the same messaging as they and their friends would.
Lena Dunham, a big time Clinton surrogate, and millenial icon posted a video celebrating the extinction of white men days before the election.
Edgy!

Israeli hackers sometimes attack targets in the Arab world. I hope Russian government won’t think some of the former attacked because of political reasons with blessing from Israeli government.
