Manly

The Russian word for “courageous” or “brave” is “manly.” This is very annoying because when I want to say that Klara is very brave – and it’s true, this is one of her most obvious characteristics – it comes out as “Klara is manly.” Which sounds outlandishly bizarre.

What a useless language.

Is it impossible to form neologisms in Russian – like “femly”? Eller “valkyriely”

The Russian for womanly means exactly what it does in English. It has no double meaning. And it feels just as weird to call a 1-year-old “womanly.”

    Why not use “smelaya”?

It’s not quite the same word. It’s more like “daring”, but that’s a different thing.

It’s funny but 200 CAD? She’s got to be dreaming. 5.99 is a good price for him.
