A student was stunned to discover that I read all of the essays students submit to me.
“Every word on every page???” he asked. “Really?”
I wonder if this is a comment about reading or grading. For example, “Professor Clarissa, you read every word of every essay? That’s a whole lot of words to read, and that (reading) must be boring.” Or, “You read every word of every essay? That’s a lot of grading, and that sounds really boring.”
Absolutely. I now know who didn’t do the readings for the course.
