Schadenfreude

The religious folks are apoplectic because Trump issued an order that gives them nothing of what they hoped for but allows them to raise money for his future campaigns.

In your face, suckers.

Oh? My TL that isn’t incandescent over healthcare hates this order too.

    • Oh, forget the sick babies. They won’t be able to discriminate against gays. That’s the real tragedy.

I swear, it’s like they make policy by hate-masturbating and only that. Aren’t they thrilled with not covering contraception to their non religious workers through their icky employer insurance?

Trump’s Executive Order on Religious Liberty Is Worse Than Useless

        Horror!

Imagine, for example, that churches rely on this order to mobilize support for Trump in his 2020 reelection campaign. Imagine he loses to Kamala Harris. Then, suddenly, churches across the land would be instantly vulnerable to IRS enforcement action. Thinking they were protected, churches would find themselves in the worst of predicaments, with their rights and possibly even existences dependent on the capricious mercies of the federal courts.

I see religious people cheering the repeal of the Johnson Act all over the place. They think Trump is their God. It’s one more step to ensuring that the separation between church and state is dissolved.

How are people celebrating this? “The US House of Representatives has voted to make cancer patients pay up to $140,000 a year for “insurance”” https://qz.com/975909/the-new-house-health-care-bill-trumps-ahca-just-passed-the-house-now-heads-for-the-senate/

There are regular people–people who make normal incomes–who are celebrating this. Do they think they are invincible? They will never have cancer? Or is it merely are so happy that insurance won’t cover birth control that they don’t care about the consequences for themselves?

I am stunned at how bad, hurtful, and draconian this bill is.

Do they think they are invincible?
Yes. Why not? It’s only those other people who will suffer.
      They will never have cancer?
Yes. If they do it’ll be some calamity that that everyone around them needs to correct with free medical care and a gofundme.

Or is it merely are so happy that insurance won’t cover birth control that they don’t care about the consequences for themselves?
A lot of them are men, infertile or post menopausal women. And if they’re not, they can get a virtuous abortion. Or virtuous prenatal care. If you or I need one, we’re slutty sluts.
