In Love

N and I are celebrating, at a very adult restaurant, the 10th anniversary of the day we met.

This isn’t the actual anniversary, though. We’ve been celebrating in stages because a love story like this deserves to be celebrated.

The actual anniversary is Tuesday. Then there will be the anniversary of the second time we met and when we actually started living together.

    Happy anniversary!

Good picture — I’m glad to see that I’m not the only person over twelve who doesn’t hold cups properly by their handle. 🙂

    • At least, I remembered to take the spoon out of it before drinking. The Soviet custom is to hold on to the spoon with one finger while drinking so that nobody gets a chance to steal it. The tradition started in the GULAG.

All jokes aside, Clarissa. that’s a stunning picture of you. Don’t take this the wrong way, but as a psychiartist, over the years I’ve seen the beautiful glow (I don’t know any other way to describe it) in the eyes and smile on the faces of people who are genuinely happy and deeply in love — and the image always transfixes me, because that’s one experinece that I personally have never felt in my entire long life.

Most people who think they’ve found the perfect mate display that glow for a tragically short time. If you’ve truly felt it for ten years, then you’re one of the luckiest human beings on this planet.

I apologize if I’m being too personal (and this is the only apology you will hear from me for my opinions ever!). But your picture — and the joy it radiates — are BEAUTIFUL!

    • Thank you, Dreidel! Yes, we’ve been like this for ten years. I wouldn’t be able to live with a person if I weren’t totally in love because people get on my nerves otherwise. 😊
