When I see preachy, smug bumper stickers like “Jesus was a refugee”, I want to slap one saying “Jesus was also male. So what?” right under it.

Obnoxious, but it serves the purpose of reminding you that not all religious Christians in this country share the same set of political beliefs.
This is important because, overwhelmingly, public Christianity in the political realm in this country is obsessed with what people do with their genitals. At least the bumper sticker owner is being preachy about something else.

Really? I have seen the “Jesus was a refugee” bumpersticker several times. I thought the people posting it were very religious left-wing Christians who were chiding the very religious right wing Christians.

How does being religious preclude being a Bernie Sanders supporter? Only someone who is somewhat a religious Christian is likely to bother with argument by Jesus bumper stickers.
Would you argue someone who simply had “Matthew 25:31-46 “on a bumper sticker was irreligious?
