Unrelated, did you hear about how the republican tax bill reclassifies tuition support for grad students as income?
Say your yearly stipend is $25k and tuition $45k, now your tax is going to be calculated on $70k (vs $25k earlier). That’s literally a 3-4x increase.

This is very crazy. How is anybody supposed to know the monetary value of this tuition? My PhD tuition was never defined. I don’t have the vaguest idea how to calculate it.
