Klara is learning to recite “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” When she gets to “Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters, and threw up the sash,” she recites it as “tore open the shutters, and threw out the cash.”

At least, she takes after me in something.

Are you sure that Klara isn’t saying,

“Away to the window I let my knife flash,
    Tore open the shutters,
Tossed out the debtors with a slash,
    And pocketed all the stash.”

A good Capitalist in the making never throws way stolen money that rightfully belongs to her! 😉

That would be more like her father. 🙂 But she already looks exactly like him. She’s got to take after me in some way.

I am not quite sure how to interpret this. Is the similarity with you confusing rhyming or similar-sounding words in busy rhyming speech? (This would be like me.) Or is it something else, like maybe being generous with her money?
