   I expect they’ll love the bold carbon-conserving, contagion-controlling future of no-air-travel, fewer comfortable middle-class BS jobs, more people working in agriculture, intermittent electricity, less travel for the not-obscenely-wealthy, no affordable restaurants, high gas prices, needing the state’s permission to move or travel across state lines, etc.

   Why does the vision of so many progressive politicians resemble the middle ages?

   Why are so many people who profess leftist/liberal/progressive values…. cowards? (I tried to think of another word, but that’s the one that fits).

      They like the idea of them being the gentry, and the rest of us being serfs. What they completely fail to understand is that the system will only support a very limited number of gentry, and that those slots have already been claimed by Bezos and his ilk. For the rest of the comfortable classes, it’ll be like a continual game of musical chairs where they are locked in cutthroat competition with each other for a dwindling number of seats in the clerisy, until the last competitor shoves his rival off the seat, and gets the cake.

   I’ve been thinking along these lines too in recent months. Claims to political legitimacy and power that rest on one’s biological lineage have more in common with feudalism than liberal-democratic thought. One way of understanding this is that it’s just a cynical distraction from the extreme concentration of wealth and power in our contemporary era but I suspect that in time there may come to be more to it than that. A particularly clear example of woke neo-feudal thinking is the now-obligatory solemn proclamation at social gatherings that the land being used for the event actually belongs to a particular native clan.

   “I’m telling you, folks, elites schmelites. It’s impossible to introduce a serious change and sustain it without an enthusiastic consent from the majority.”

   I understand that you feel quite annoyed at your social peers in the intelligentsia who have turned off their brains to worship loudly at the church of the woke.

   But “consent” in the societal sense can hardly be voluntaristic when the oligarchs control the means of mental production. I’ll never get tired of quoting Marx on this point: “The ideas of the ruling class are in every epoch the ruling ideas, i.e. the class which is the ruling material force of society, is at the same time its ruling intellectual force. The class which has the means of material production at its disposal, has control at the same time over the means of mental production, so that thereby, generally speaking, the ideas of those who lack the means of mental production are subject to it. The ruling ideas are nothing more than the ideal expression of the dominant material relationships, the dominant material relationships grasped as ideas.”

   Further, it’s just not true that “the majority” hasn’t tried to break free (when given an opportunity to do so in secret ballots) from the fetters imposed by the globalist oligarchs and their megaphones in the chattering classes/intelligentsia. Consider the fall of the European constitution in referendums in France and the Netherlands, the rejection of the Charlettown Accords by Canadians, Brexit, the election of Trump – these all stand here as significant examples of popular repudiation of “elite” power.

   “So Canada’s Trudeau said that he isn’t planning to use proof of vaccination as a basis for admission to restaurants or other public events.”

   Trudeau the Younger has a mental age somewhere between 10 and 15. His justification is rooted in wokester, blather, nonsense-speak: “”The idea of certificates of vaccination for domestic use does bring in questions of equity. There are questions of fairness and justice. There could be discrimination.” Anyway, since health is constitutionally a provincial, not federal, matter his opinion here doesn’t count for diddly-squat. (I sincerely wish he would go away and leave us alone – so embarrassing.)

      I agree that there’s a psychological war being waged on us. It’s undeniable. But you managed to keep your brain intact. I did. Others could, too, if they learned to take responsibility for themselves.

         No doubt we agree more than we disagree. It’s a macro vs micro perspective thing. I really do agree in principle with the point you are trying to make but still maintain a keen sense of realism about how difficult it is for most individuals to keep an “intact brain” in the face of the overwhelming power of the wokester Cultural Revolutionary campaign of propaganda and terror. It could cost one’s career, friends, even family.
