I’m grateful for everybody’s compassion but, believe me, I’m very glad to be called crazy, menopausal, or a menstruating hysteric because the alternative is worse. People could realize I’m actually completely serious in my disagreement with the dogma. In medieval Russia, crazy people (or those who shrewdly faked insanity) were the only ones who were allowed to criticize the tsar, sometimes to his face. One of such “holy fools” was Vasily for whom this famous cathedral in the Red Square is named:
