The Russian propaganda has been spreading news that Valery Zaluzhnyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, received a serious brain wound and is undergoing brain surgery.

They went on and on for days, revving themselves up with glee. Ukrainians said nothing, letting them make complete idiots out of themselves.

When every Russian idiot and idiot sympathizer published this fake news, Zaluzhnyi released a video saying, “May 25, 2023 today, and as you can see my head is as fine as ever.”

Restraint is a crucial strategic quality.

“ussian idiot and idiot sympathizer ”

What I’ve noticed recently (took me a while cause it seemed so…. weird) is that while the russian side lies constantly…. they do so in such a consistent and transparent manner that once you get the patterns… they might as well be telling the truth..
“We’re leaving spot X” = “We’re escalating”
“X is in great shape!” = “oof… awful about X”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” = “yikes! Bullseye!”

There is the (very) occasional bit of effective misdirection or just complete irrationality but all in all Ukrainians have been far more…. effectively devious….

  I’ve heard it described by Garry Kasparov as overwhelming the sense of what is true and what is not true to the point where nothing is real unless the TV says so.

Zaluzhnyi just seems like the military leader that Ukraine needs right now. Very lucky to have competence during this difficult period.
