What Works

After yesterday’s drone attack on the oligarchs in Moscow, the residents of Kyiv had a good night’s sleep for the first time in weeks. Whoever organized the drone attack (and I’m thinking it’s got to be the Russian nationalist guerrillas), it worked.

My first thought was false flag like the buildings blown up to give putain a war in 1999.
But then looking at the targets (like unloved rich people areas) and reaction, including the usual hysterical Solovyov suddenly telling people to be calm, I agree with you that it’s domestic opposition.
Another neat trick of the attacks, also in Belgorod), has been to distract attention away from the “When is the counteroffensive starting?” talk (I keep telling people it’s a process not an event and part of it has started but it will have been going on for a while before people really notice).

    1. The Russian guerillas have crossed the border again. Their leaders have appeared with open faces and have been recognized by many. These are real, bona fide Russian nationalists. These days, with the social media and everything, it would be impossible to pass some unknown fellow for a famous political activist.

Of course, they are acting as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and as you say, it’s one of the many operations preparing for the counteroffensive.

Maybe the drones decided to aim for Putin on their own.

According to a test report released by the USAF today (actual news report), killer drones in a field test were programmed to get bonus points by taking out SAM sites, but for some reason were told in a specific exercise by their human operator not to attack an identified enemy missile site.

Apparently, the drones didn’t want to miss those bonus points, so in the test they killed their human operator first, then blew up the SAMs.

Maybe I was wrong several days ago when I posted a comment saying not to worry about AI because “The Terminator” is just science-fiction.
