The ChatBot Candidate

I’m not watching the Republican primary debate but I heard Chris Christie referred to one of the opponents as “the guy who sounds like ChatGPT”. Does anybody know whom he meant? It had to be DeSantis, right?

      1. He’s a biotech+pharma multimillionaire. Tells you all you need to know, really, but he’s also just very irritating on a personal level. I have no idea why people like him.

He is the Andrew Yang of the right. Some comparisons can also be drawn to Pete Buttigieg.

              1. If Trump was going to these debates, we’d be watching them. And that fact demonstrates why nobody else running was ever a threat to him.

              2. “Republican primaries of 2015?”

Asked to explain Trump to some Polish people I found a picture from one of the 2015 debates and asked “Which one these people has the body language of a president?”

It immediatley made sense to them.

I never like Trump’s persona and as president he was mediocre at best for lots of reasons mostly related to poor judgement in terms of advisers but he had a role to play for a time and he played it. Unfortunately the rest of the political establishment is still doing reruns of 2008 and 2012 (like you said a dearth of anything remotely new or connected to real concerns of real people).

  1. “sound like chatbot”

Generation Chatbot…. that is embarrassing… it’s full election season now in Poland with voting on the 15th (parliament) and it’s not edifying (to say the least) but the major figures sound like themselves (more’s the pity in some cases….)

Nobody’s saying anything new or interesitng but at least it’s kind of grounded in real people’s lives when it’s not about settling grudges from the 1980s or 90s…
