I think it’s prairie dropseed (tough to be certain without knowing the exact height and seeing the seasonal changes), which is very fragrant. The scent reminds me vaguely of coriander.

As a group, those are called bunch-grasses, but I don’t know that particular one.

Yes. I believe it is prarie dropseeed as well. While it looks like a lot of other grasses, I can’t think of any other grass with that look that also has a scent.
By the way, have you thought about downloading a plant identifier app? The most common one is Picture This. It costs a bit of money but it’s great fun and quite accurate.

Yes! Totally prairie dropseed. I googled, and people are complaining of the smell. They must have weird olfactory preferences.
