All you need to do to understand why people vote for Trump is to sit at an anti-racist meeting of the kind we were forced to attend at work. Even the black faculty were insulted because we were all collectively treated with the nastiness and the derision of the highest order.
We have absolutely no means to respond in kind to these terrible people who mistreat and humiliate us. The only thing that gets to them (although who knows why) is Trump. So people vote for Trump. That doesn’t stop the horrible people but at least they get upset.
Short and interesting – why Palestinians in Gaza and in the West Bank are two different “peoples”:
“Народ сектора Газы” (я намеренно употребляю такой термин) уже существенно отличается от “народа Западного берега Иордана”. Население этих территорий изначально составляли разные кланы и эмигранты из разных районов. Жители сектора Газы – отчасти эмигранты из Египта в первой половине ХХ в., отчасти беженцы/выселенцы из района от Тель-Авива и южнее, и бедуины Негева там есть.

Interesting point against the belief that support for Hamas should be blamed on “leftists” dedicated to the idea of “American imperialism”:
// This is not a problem of “leftism.” This is the problem of modern bourgeois-liberal humanism, which has given rise to a “culture of snowflakes” who are afraid of any pain, any strain of strength. And along with this culture comes hostage syndrome. Modern bourgeois-liberal humanism requires a universal manifestation of humanity towards everyone. Including to the aggressor and rapist. And not when the aggressor and rapist are defeated and neutralized, but right now, when the aggressor commits his violence.
…
Modern humanistic consciousness drives away the idea that absolute evil has returned to the world, with which it is impossible to come to terms. The same one that was defeated in 1945. This is scary. It hurts. This requires effort. That’s why beautiful-hearted humanists are ready to seize on any Hamas fake. How for permission to relax and not take sides, because “not everything is so simple.” The Arab-Israeli conflict is too complicated. And we must try to understand Putin’s “concerns.”
No, today time requires us to be unambiguous. It’s very burdensome. But if we do not take on this burden, in the world of victorious anti-civilization there will be no place for any humanism – liberal, bourgeois or any other. Today we must fight for the world of universal humanism. Fight Hamas. Fight with Putin and his “black international”. This is clear.

Yeah… Sorry, not buying it. The absolute callousness at best and glee at worst that the left addressed towards the Israeli victims shows that not everyone deserves compassion. There’s a very clear line that has been drawn between the boring, inconvenient, never innocent victims and the victims who really count. Even when they don’t really exist.

Found an article in English:
// Here’s an outline of a war plan to change the situation in Gaza
Opinion: Uprooting Hamas rule should be carried out with patient fighting and in stages, while providing humanitarian aid to preserve legitimacy in the world leading to a civil-local government overseen by an international force; There still needs to be a long-range plan, though

// A US Navy warship operating in the Middle East intercepted multiple projectiles near the coast of Yemen on Thursday, two US officials told CNN.
One of the officials said the missiles were fired by Iranian-backed Houthi militants, who are engaged in an ongoing conflict in Yemen. Approximately 2-3 missiles were intercepted, according to the second official. //

Not known to be particularly attentive to world demands, it appears the Kim Jong Un regime is making shady deals with Hamas and selling them increasingly advanced weaponry, such as the shoulder-fired F-7 rocket-propelled grenade launcher //
