Klara wrote a short story based on the most recent album by Taylor Swift. Every song is a stage in the main character’s journey. I’m very happy that she’s writing, and the spelling is beautiful. But Taylor Swift, people. Taylor Swift. I was hoping I’d get at least 5 more years before I have to hear her name in my house.

Wow … the blog software didn’t like my “if one ply toilet paper were a person” meme?

It kind of makes sense that your daughter chose to write stories about Swift’s songs.

Swift’s stellar success and appeal is, in no small measure, due to her smart storytelling abilities. Almost all her songs have a story arc setting them apart from others in the love/romantic genre — a majority of which, while being extremely melodious, are closer to someone whining/pining instead of having a plot.

I’m feeling really old because my reaction when reading the title was to ask whether she’d chosen the big end or the small end!
