A Criminal Justice Fail

Hey, before you complain about the American justice system, you need to know that within 24 hours this week two different courts in two different parts of Spain absolved child rapists based on the argument that child rape is normal in the rapists’ culture. The need for cultural sensitivity to “a vulnerable population” was cited as justification. Strangely, it never occurred to anybody to consider the raped girls a vulnerable population.

Here’s the link. It’s in Spanish but you’ll get the gist with Google Translate.

  1. Of course, the “poor, stupid, oppressed Gypsies” can’t possibly be held up to the same standards of behavior of white people, or normal people in general *sarc* This sounds like the dumb white liberals in the US who have this same sort of condescending pity towards people of color, who fawn all over them as long as they’re not conservatives. I hate these types, they’re the type who gush over Hispanic people until I tell them my mother is a Republican and I’m a conservative independent, then we’re “coconuts”

That’s the narrative in Spain… in Germany it’s “poor, stupid, oppressed muslim immigrants” can’t possibly be held up to the same standards of behavior of real German people (also in Scandinavia and maybe France).

  2. “Spain”

Words fail to express how much I’m hating every single aspect of Sanchez’s Spain which has joined Germany and Hungary for countries that have let me down….. sooooooooooooooo hard in the last couple of years.

Weirdly Macron’s France at least seems to be kind of halfway waking up…. (after the Italian disappointment).

    1. I know! It truly was better under Franco, and I’m really no fan of Franco. It’s such a travesty. The saddest, leftiest, stupidest country in Western Europe.

    2. Could you go into more detail about Italy? I know they elected Meloni but I haven’t kept track since

I haven’t followed her closely but she’s presided over a surge in migration…

She talked a good game about Ukraine but is against targeting anything in russia…

I see she’s trying to make connections in Africa but she doesn’t understand a fundamental aspect of migration… improving economic situations don’t halt migration they increase it in the short term.

European politicians are mostly kind of retarded. They have a set acceptable actions and policies and mostly stay within those and they mostly don’t work and they have almost zero creativity in the face of a new problem.

At least Macron isn’t as terrible as he used to be. According to Zeihan his new pro-Ukraine stance is largely about realizing that drones are now a normal part of warfare and France is way behind and Ukraine is the world’s leader. Cynical but right.

        1. Yes, unfortunately, Meloni kind of fizzled out. I don’t know why every politician shatters into tiny fragments on the subject of migration. There’s not a single one who doesn’t fold. Trump is apparently now telling the audiences at his rallies that he was a week away from building the wall before leaving the WH. And the poor sad bastards are believing it because they can’t face the truth.

            1. Trump is saying he’ll deport massively if he’s elected. The question of why he didn’t do it when he was elected the first time remains unaddressed save for childish bleatings about “the swamp.”

              We are screwed.

          1. Meloni wasn’t elected by people, she was elected by money.

And once she’d secured the bag?

Now she works on behalf of the money.

  3. So, Crackpot here …

You have AT LEAST TWO competing comment modules, one styled, one unstyled that I see when accessing the comments box.

If you present ID fields to the unstyled one, that confuses the styled one into thinking you presented ID, but as it’s not compatibly formatted because of page loading issues, the styled one believes you are Anonymous for at least one subsequent comment until a page refresh smacks it awake.

Your blog is possibly inheriting one of these comment modules from WordPress and the other one (the unstyled one) is probably old code stuck in your account’s addons.

And until you find this or WordPress finds it for you, this behaviour will continue.

The styled one is the one with B, I, and broken oval link at top, while the unstyled one accepts HTML basic style entities and has no formatting bar.

My comment above about “securing the bag” is one example of this in action.
