Impotence versus Senility

It’s the Trump program from Truth Social, supposedly. It’s all extraordinary rubbish – I mean, the dude did ef-all to “seal the border” and instead touted his program to release criminals – but I’m curious about the bizarre appearance of “no tax on tips.” Tips are income, like any other. Why shouldn’t they be taxed? And why such a handout to a demographic that skews young / immigrant and votes for the other side?

It’s an exotically bad program that reads like a “Dear Santa” letter for low-IQ folks. Reminds me of beauty queens lisping “… and world peace!” with silicone lips.

On the other hand, Biden is senile. And his handlers think it’s cute to mutilate children.

I’m not seeing a good solution here.

    People keep saying the system is broken, Washington is broken, etc etc etc. But clearly it’s working really really well for a few mega rich who have benefitted greatly under both Biden and Trump. Their influence it’s the reason things where a majority of the population agree on don’t get done.

    Am I correct that your main objection is not to the actual political program, it’s just that you don’t think Trump would follow through?

      This isn’t a program. These are silly fantasies. In all caps, too, as if written by an excitable 12-year-old. “BECOME A VERY FAMOUS INFLUENCER. FIND A MEGA CUTE BILLIONAIRE BOYFRIEND. FIND A CURE FOR CANCER.”

      The sheer childishness of both content and form is striking. And that adult people are reacting positively to this is simply scary.

        Saw an explanation of Trump as a phenomenon, that sort of made sense: he’s got nothing in himself. There’s nothing real about Trump that anybody likes or dislikes, he’s just a big projection screen where people see themselves: patriotic conservative populists look at him and see a patriotic conservative populist, and rich white racists who long for violence look at him and see… a rich white racist who longs for violence.

        Still mulling over whether there’s any truth to that, or if it’s just a cute clap-back.

          He’s like that boy alien in a short story by Ray Bradbury who took the form of whatever his interlocutor wanted to see in him.

          Nothing good will happen and nothing on that list will be achieved until people lose interest in instantaneous solutions and sign up for the patient slog that everything worth having is.

        *shrug* Given your dim view of the American voting public’s collective emotional maturity and long term memory

        and that the RNC didn’t even bother updating its platform for 2020 from 2016 I’m sure this is ok and good.

        Instead of whatever nightmarescape you find in the DNC platform:

        Open borders with migrants who settle and migrants who go on crime spree holidays like PBS watchers who go on Viking River Cruises on the Danube! Inflation that makes post Soviet and Weimar republic levels look like a bargain! A dome that actually aims nuclear heads at America! Breathylizers lock your Aetna isssued smart gun every time you want to use it but endless supplies of speed and oxycodone for migrants free of charge! Enormous full body condoms but no new kids! The entire teachers’ union is just the International Drag Queen Union who just replaces all instruction with the 19 Chants of Judith Butler, instructional Grindr Duolingo by Pearson, and Zoom Chatroulette for Toddlers! Anyone can vote if they game an American Idol poll! No stadiums, no major league sports, just second tier drama students pretending to play basketball by monologuing Hamlet! The taxes are so high that the amount of tax is actually exceeds the base price (like airline tickets, wtf)! Adding two more fronts to World War III, and endless lines and shortages of bread and rice (wait).. Quartering America’s Most Wanted in your home which must have mandated open plan and LED light bulbs as part of rehabilitation! Scarface in Ohio!

      Exactly. Nobody is remotely planning to do anything. And this list is evidence of that.

      Observe also the grammar form used in every point on the list. Not a single one has an actual agent in it. Such as, for example, “I will sign an executive order barring the processing of asylum claims of people in the country illegally.” Or “I will organize and fund recall campaigns for soft-on-crime DAs.”
