One thing I’m noticing is that race-mongering exploded in the hours since Biden endorsed Harris.
It goes on and on and on. When one imagines four years of this triumphant race-baiting, one begins to wilt. How, how does anybody think it’s a good idea?
White women, please don’t fuck this up.

This is a dumb way to criticize Kamala:

Of course it’s dumb but it just shows the dire state of libtards. Their preferred candidate calls herself top cop while they’re screeching about defunding all cops lol. I’m enjoying this circus.

The same people who were screeching “I’m ridin’ with Biden!” yesterday are already lifelong Kamala fans. An instant switch. Back when I was on the Left, I always wondered how the people around me managed to fall in with whatever the new party line was so instantaneously. I still don’t get it.

Also note that, just like Obama, she adopted the identity of the deadbeat parent who abandoned her instead of the parent who raised her, presumably because blacks are a larger voter block in america than indians.

This is a good point. I remember that Kamala was Indian and introduced herself as such until she was chosen as Biden’s veep when she suddenly became not even just black but African American. She started sharing those spurious stories about saying “fweedom” at MLK’s rallies and celebrating Kwanzaa as a small child.
Another thing that bugs me is the stream of references to “Kamala’s daughter.” Kamala is childless. She married her husband when his children were teenagers, so there’s no question of her having any role in raising them.
These are the same people who say they support women’s choices but then they are terrified to say the word “childless” and have to invent ridiculous stories.

True, conservatives need to keep their racism and sexism in check during this season — if they want to win. This goes without saying.

The idea that any criticism of a black person is a result of racism comes from the same arsenal as the idea that any criticism of Israel is anti-semitic. Both are primitive manipulations with no intellectual value.

Yes, but nothing I said above accepts that premise you’re making that she is above criticism. That’s your faulty reading. She can and *should* be criticised. But if the GOP doesn’t keep its rabid racists and sexist commentaries in check, they will only garner her sympathy. You can surely criticise a politician without recourse to the basest of ugly instincts. But of course, they don’t need me to tell them. See how well it worked against Obama.

These “rabid racist commentaries” are a figment of your imagination. And of the unhealthy imaginations of the tweeters I posted. Nobody even said anything about Harris yet because there was no time to do so, yet the screeching about “rabid racists” has been going on non-stop.
Obama, by the way, was a crappy president. But you can’t even notice it because you’ve been so bamboozled by these stories about him being persecuted by “racists.” This same trick is being played on you now and you are falling for it again.

Kellyanne, whom you posted, literally said that someone who has been an AG and Senator “doesn’t speak well or work hard”. Oh goodness.
Please ask them to keep up these racist dog whistles. Maybe also deliberately mispronounce her name, and question her citizenship and dating life and sexuality. What else? Go for it! It’s exactly how they’d defeat her like they made Obama a one-term president. Lol. You don’t need my advice, clearly.

None of this is remotely racist. It would be racist to say she doesn’t speak well because she’s black but nobody is saying this.
Tons of people online today are mocking JD Vance for his sad attempts at being funny at a rally. That isn’t a manifestation of people despising the working classes. It’s a manifestation of people reacting to him personally not being funny but thinking he is
As for mocking a politician’s sex life, everybody has had their fill with mocking Trump. And that was perfectly fine. I myself have enjoyed pointing out that his wife is a vapid whore for years. Why wouldn’t it be OK to subject Kamala to the same mockery?

Trump wasn’t subjected to that, A married middle aged woman reduced to a whore. If they aren’t whores they are dried up old cat ladies. The sexism on the right is very real and I’m puzzled by your refusal to see it. I agree with you about the racist stuff being exaggerated or nonexistent.
Dems have a racism problem/obsession and conservatives can’t deal with real women with real sex lives. That’s what their abortion obsession is about. Tucker thinks it’s equivalent to a child sacrifice movement. They hate feminism, all of it not just crazy 3rd wave.

Clearly, the goal is to make the point that Trump is fat. If tomorrow a similar cover appears (or, rather, a meme because the mainstream press won’t dare) featuring Kamala and whoever is a thinner female politician. People will start saying it’s sexist, won’t they? Because nobody notices how often it’s done to men. The number of memes about how Trump is fat or screwed a whore or is sexually abused by Putin is enormous. Why is that OK and not sexist while doing the same to Kamala wouldn’t be?

Yeah. It’s kinda insufferable. It’s clearly mostly political propaganda now pushing Harris. Most of it comes off not genuine.
There is little to no talk about the negatives of a Harris campaign or what better alternatives there may be. Like the Democratic machinery is trying to block out any other possibility.
THIS is why the Republican/Democrat duopoly needs to end. At the end of the days , we only get to choose between two preselected candidates, both in the same pocket. This is why nothing changes or gets done.

As a woman, this crap on X is embarrassing. This just plays into the idea that women can’t think and will vote for any woman no matter what, I hate that idea. This is why assholes on the right claim women shouldn’t vote, that women can’t think and only care about emotions and “feeelz” rather than logic. I hate the idea that women are more emotional and irrational than men and that it’s a good thing, I try to be rational and supposedly that’s “thinking like a man” 😑

That’s the story of my life, too. We are supposed to be tender flowers, falling apart at the first sign of scrutiny that any politician expects as a matter of course. Politicians’ sex scandals have always been fair play. So to claim that Kamala’s sex life being laughed at is somehow exceptional and sexist is ludicrous.

Wait, it’s only sexist to talk about someone’s affairs, if that person is a woman?
And that’s not sexist?

I think why people keep bringing up Kamala’s affair with Willie Brown is because it’s juicy gossip, plus political mistresses usually don’t become vice presidents. But seriously, that was a long time ago and she’s married now with stepkids, that affair isn’t relevant anymore. It’s the idea that female politicians or any woman in a high-powered profession is supposed to be chaste and asexual, not a mistress or remotely sexual.

It’s still funny, though. She was young and beautiful when she farmed herself out to a hideous, old married dude to further her career. It’s also really funny how many sources were scrubbed to pretend that Brown’s wife was OK with it all when the scenes with their sex trio were notorious.

How is that funny though? And how do you know she wasn’t attracted to him, a charismatic older man (he wasn’t 90 back then!). He was long separated. What sex trio?

It wasn’t even a secret affair, they were in a relationship. To these prudes, that’s the scandal. From AP:
THE FACTS: This is missing some important context. Brown was separated from his wife during the relationship, which was not a secret.
Brown, 90, is a former mayor of San Francisco who was serving as speaker of the California State Assembly in the 1990s when he and Harris were in a relationship. Brown had separated from his wife in 1982.

I’ve heard from people who were present about a scandal that Brown’s wife threw when she saw Kamala hovering around her husband.
It doesn’t matter, though. The issue is that Brown appointed her to very cushy jobs while sleeping with her. Let’s agree that this is clearly corruption.

I don’t agree that it’s corruption because I don’t know that. Do powerful men give women they date jobs, women who are just “servicing” them, women they are having extramarital affairs with, as many allege, as a rule? I don’t think so, why would they? Or do friends help friends get jobs? She was ambitious (as they all are) and traveled in those circles, meanwhile she dated some guys. Whoop dee doo. I see zero “scandals”.

This is a hypothetical example, by the way. My Dean, with all his faults, would never do something this hideously corrupt.

Yes it would be, but Brown didn’t give her a job. She was elected to those positions.

“Keep lying you fucking dunce.” no need to get all hysterical. Those were not the appointments we were discussing. Trump put his entire family in the white house it’s normal. Maybe Brown thought she was talented? So you are saying from that point on every election, for DA, AG and Senator, was a slam dunk? I don’t think it’s that easy. I know people who got jobs in the entertainment business that way, and they all eventually faded into obscurity. You think you could handle the job of DA? Or AG of California- all it takes is a talent for giving blow jobs?
I hope we eventually get around to discussing how she had one job as VP – to secure the border- and she did absolutely nothing. Unfortunately conservatives love discussing salacious details about women’s completely normal sex lives, or lack of them, in order to judge and degrade women. It’s crude and distasteful, in fact I feel that way about all the sex scandals (also I don’t think it was always like this- I think the Republicans started that in the 90s with the Ken Starr investigations. They also started the trend of calling their enemies nazis- of course aimed at women “feminazis”)

It’s literally illegal for me to eat something that fits on a saucer instead of a stick.
I find it extraordinary that people would claim it’s perfectly fine to throw around high-paying government jobs to mistresses when the reality is that there’s a million regulations on the conduct of state employees. And for a good reason.

I want to add that I grew up in the midst of the most disgusting corruption. The USSR was extremely corrupt on all levels. So it hurts my feelings when people suggest that it’s OK for America to become a corrupt cesspool where women need to sleep with well-connected older men to get good jobs.
People simply have no idea how lucky they are to live in a society where this is not the norm. I have achieved everything I wanted professionally in the US and never has anybody even breathed anything untoward in my direction. That’s how it should be. We should preserve this for the next generations. It’s an enormous civilizational achievement, so let’s not devalue it to make some unnecessary partisan point.
