What role? He was not in office. Just like he was not in office both times when Russia invaded Ukraine.

“Trying to link”, my foot. She boasted of being the last person in the room with Biden when he made the decisions that led to the embarrassing chaos of withdrawal. The same withdrawal that Putin is reported to have watched on a loop for days when making the decision to invade in February of 2022.

Do you despise the MSM as much as I do or almost as much? Nobody despises them more, that’s for certain.

    You could try to read the piece before you comment. Trump agreed on a timeline of withdrawal WITH THE TALIBAN, trying Biden (who already wanted to withdraw US troops) to an agreement.

    So, yes, he’s hoping that we would forget that it was his timeline, and somehow blame Harris. Not working, sorry.

      Dude, be your age. Whay would THE TALIBAN have done if Biden didn’t honor this agreement? Timeline, schmimeline. It was an absolute mess and people responsible for the mess were in the WH. The timeline didn’t cause the mess. Incompetence did.

        I agree with you that since Biden was the president at the time, the responsibility lies with him. But I’m also curious about what everyone was saying when Trump was winding down the war in Afghanistan.

        My recollection seems to be that the generals were saying that was a bad idea. They may have been against ending the war in general, but they definitely warned about withdrawing so quickly. That was reported through the MSM.

        Can you look up what you said about that at the time? Did you write about how their concerns were overstated, just like many other warnings public figures made about Trump?

          It’s truly bizarre that a person would ask me what I thought about MSM reports in a post titled “despising the MSM.”

          I know you are not doing it on purpose but I’d actually prefer you did.

          Leaving that aside, I want to share a small personal anecdote. When I first became department chair, 3 weeks into the process I had to defend the budget my predecessor had made months earlier with zero input from me. The budget was a mess. It was embarrassing how bad it was. I was grilled and vituperated about that budget in 2 three-hour-long meetings by a group of 9 people. They attacked me for this horrible mess of a budget pretty viciously. It was very unpleasant. But one thing I didn’t do in that entire time was whine that it wasn’t my fault because somebody else had created the budget. I was now in charge, so it was on me. I addressed not a single complaint about it to the previous Chair, other colleagues, or the administration.

          This is a small issue that we all confront in our lives. Some of us address it with dignity and some don’t. “He started it first” is childish and evokes no respect.

            Using your example, if you were to give advice to someone thinking of hiring the person who was department chair before you for a similar position, would you make any comments on their ability to create budgets?

              I wouldn’t narc on my colleague, no. It’s bizarre that this even gets asked. Would you? If so, then I’ve got to warn you, it won’t get you the reaction you are hoping for.

                Maybe this (viewing revealing someone’s incompetence as narcing) contributes to academia not being the cutthroat environment that you pine for, like working at X. Don’t you see the connection?

                I’m not in academia, don’t know how important creating a budget is for being a successful department chair, and don’t know how much of a sense of solidarity people have with one another, so I don’t know what I would do if I were you in this specific circumstance.

                But assuming we’re talking about an abstract job and an aspect that’s important to it, I would lean towards honesty, accounting for the circumstances (eg. not if my predecessor has a child with cancer and badly needs the job, as long as making a mistake in that job won’t kill or maim people).

                Would you hire your predecessor as department chair if you were hiring?

                Chairs aren’t hired. We are elected. I’d hire him any day as a professor. His teaching is phenomenal. The problem is that we have cut all the accountant positions, so professors now serve as accountants, for which we aren’t qualified. But that’s a completely different issue. The point is that if I accepted his budget and created a collapse, it would be 100% on me. Just like the Afghanistan withdrawal is completely on people who actually were in office when it happened. I’d like to see them take responsibility. Just say openly, yes, this was bungled, we are sorry, this was not good.

                Just like I’d love to hear Trump explain why he failed to deliver on immigration. Take responsibility, is what I’m saying. These people whine like babies, all of them. And we let them because we are so bamboozled by these stupid partisan games. Nobody takes responsibility because they don’t have to.

                And yet you’d blame Harris (not Biden) for a botched withdrawal that Trump set a deadline for. Even in your own convoluted analogy, she’s the last person that should take the blame for it.

                But you know that and are just trying to make a political point — which makes you no different from the MSM.

                Obviously, I blame Biden more than Harris. If I made an impression that I’m some sort of a “ridin’ with Biden” person, believe me, that’s an illusion. But they both are enormously more guilty than, for example, you. Or me. Wouldn’t you agree? So she’s definitely not “the last person.” She was a sitting vice president and this was her administration. The administration’s mess-ups are hers. I’m not blaming Trump’s failure to build the wall on Obama. Obama wasn’t in office, so it wasn’t on him.

As if this absurd idea has ever worked. Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Pakistan & India — all failed European dictated Two-State Solutions. And then of course Chamberlain’s ‘Peace in our Time’ Appeasement Policy division of the Czech Republic in ’38. BP condemns Israeli settlements as illegal. Who made BP announcers: Judge, Jury, and God? Talk of turning Gaza over to the UN when the UN will not condemn Ham-ass.

    Cenk Uygur, a Muslim born in Istanbul Turkey, condemns Israel for killing 30 times more civilians, despite Ham-ass refusal to surrender, he condemns Israel for the death toll in the Oct 7th Abomination War. Throughout the interview with Kennedy, Cenk makes a jabber-mouth filibuster. Cenk condemns Israel of brutality and cruelty; that Israel prevents Gaza from being a state. Kennedy repeats the many and multiple times a Palestinian state offered to Arabs and their refusal. Jabber-mouth declares the Jewish state represents an injustice! He cries: ‘When will the Palestinians have a state’?

    Kennedy repeatedly denounces the TYT filibuster. Bottom line, Arabs lost their wars to throw the Jews into the Sea. Wars which Arab countries started. Currently 27 Independent Arab countries and only 1 Jewish State.

    To what does this compare? Jews rebelled against the Romans in 66-70 War and 132-135 War. Jews endured exile refugee status without a State for 2000+ years till the Nazi Shoah. Post ’48 and ’67 Arab Wars, congratulations these dhimmi Arabs now directly compare to g’lut Israel prior to the victory of Israeli Independence in the 1948 War.

This history of oppression utterly critical for understanding the Jewish perspective on statehood and security.

    The Jewish experience of statelessness and persecution over centuries, a horror story. Indeed unique and marked by the significant historical trauma, including the event that culminated in the Shoah; the systematic slaughter of 75% of European Jewry in less than 3 years.

    While Palestinians have faced their own struggles, including displacement and conflict, in no wise does their dhimmi exile experiences compare to the Jewish horror story of injustice and political and religious oppression. The Arab struggle simple does not equate to the historical horrors faced by Jews.

      What dhimmi exile experiences? Arabs in non-Moslem countries cannot have “dhimmi experiences”, by definition, since only Jews and Christians living in Islamic societies are subject to the inferior status of dhimmitude.

        Avi you must be Catholic. Your dogmatic creed mentality quite the joke. If Jews under Arab rule have an inferior dhimmi status then Arabs living under Jewish rule have an inferior dhimmi status. Measure for Measure, that’s known as “Justice”. Yes Catholic dogmatsic creed does not believe in justice but we Jews we don’t believe in the box headed dogmatic creed belief system of Catholic priests who rape little boys and preach there after morality and piety.

    I understand your distaste with politicians. I can disapprove of Biden not taking responsibility, yet the fact that Trump set up the plan is an important piece of information about Trump’s abilities and whe
