Folks, I can’t keep track of all the Anonymouses any more, especially when people can’t be bothered to put a random name or initial to help us identify who said what. Please try to comment and tell me if it’s gotten better or worse.
P.S. When it says “enter an email”, it can be a fake email, nobody cares. Just something to keep track of who said what because it’s gotten very confusing.
I hate this. Makes it impossible to follow discussions. Takes a minute to register a wordpress account to comment here. If you can’t spare one minute to improve the reading experience of your fellow readers here then fuck you fuck you fuck you.

I really hope the change I made helps because it’s gotten very confusing. Why are people so resistant to making a tiny effort to maintain a civil discussion?

What change did you make?

Now the antisocial Anonymouses will get different creature faces. We can tell them apart that way, at least.

Ah, ok. Hope it works!

Yeah. It is a minor annoyance until the comment volume reaches a certain threshold. Then… I use the side-column to zero in on comments from regular commenters who are interesting to read, and in recent days they’ve been crowded out by anons. Which would be fine if the anons were mostly interesting as well. But no. Seems to be raising the static ratio.

Can still comment, but thanks for the secondary obstacle.

We want you to comment. All we ask is that you mark your comments with an initial or a nickname to help us see who said what. Could you do that for us, please? There are many people here all politely asking you to do that one easy thing to keep the discussion going.

Note that this creature had to type in an email address and a name under the new posting guidelines, but still chose to type in “Anonymous” instead of a shorter name requiring less typing. For him, it’s not about convenience, it’s about inflicting inconvenience on others.
You have the patience of a saint. I would’ve banned this piece of shit troll a long time ago.

“still chose to type in “Anonymous” “
I know Clarissa doesn’t like the N word being thrown around casually but this type of troll shares a lot of N-like traits…
I’ve been on forums and learned to recognize the type.
-always tries to turn the conversation back onto their particular hobby-horse
-projects attitudes and opinions onto others telling them what they think (and then have hissy fits when it’s done to them
-deliberately advocate for unpopular (often borderline psychotic) ideas
-seems to love it when their behavior becomes one of the topics of the forum
This troll fills all of those boxes (and some others I haven’t mentioned).
It’s all about validation through reaction… not technically big N behavior necessarily but… let’s say N adjacent.

Just say the word. And follow it up with “oh, why would you think I’m racist!”

You don’t need to create an account – just put in a (fake, if you want) email address and some sort of name or initial. Even A. N. would do!

Aaaaah, that’s better!

Comment to check… I’ll also try posting without logging in first (which wordpress seems to think makes sense)

You’re hungry?
I actually took it from the title of a horrible, horrible hit song several years ago, the performer of which recently started doing ads for the national lottery which brought all that musical trauma back to vivid life…
A vid for those who are curious…. (just remember the cat…)
