Mocking the Victims

I don’t understand, are they doing this on purpose? Are they trying to mock the victims of the hurricane?

I watched three times and I don’t get it. Why would anybody at a government agency think it’s a good look to make a mockery of the results of a natural catastrophe?

One fails to watch the news for 3 days, and already things become incomprehensible.

  1. I saw it when it came out a few days ago and I took it to be a sign of civilizational decay. This is proof, if any was needed, that the system is broken.

    1. And they posted it themselves, like they are proud of it. It’s the weirdest thing. The consciousness of what they are actually doing isn’t there at all. People have lost touch with reality. A whole bunch of them there, and not a single person capable of saying, “wait, is this right?”

Reminds me of Soviet subbotniks where the goal was perform work without actually doing anything.

  2. They look so clean. And in their work uniforms.

Last time we did that work, we had no power and no running water: the stench coming off us was probably visible to the naked eye. There’s only so much you can do with wet-wipes. My sister sat on a bucket in her yard, and I cut her hair off, because she couldn’t find a comb in the aftermath, and in a few days it was terminally matted.
