After getting up at 4:30 to speak at a conference, by lunchtime I became very loopy. Laughing with the lab workers, telling funny stories. They were terrified because they’ve never seen me like this. I’m always very contained at work. You can’t look like I do and be a smiley, giggly person if you want to be taken seriously as a scholar. So I’m usually grim. Poor lab workers saw the side of me that I never reveal at work.
Now they will be even more scared of me than usual.
It’s a great time to send in anonymous questions because I’m in a state where I’ll reveal all there is left to reveal.
