Not that the expert class is much better:
The difference, of course, is that the expert class is purposefully and cynically grifting to get paid. And the excitable plebs is emoting in order to get milked.

Speaking of the expert class, glad to see even mainstream publications finally acknowledging the scientific and political insanity behind our COVID policies.
You probably don’t remember the lockdowns all that fondly.
But if you’re like a lot of Americans on this fifth anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, you at least understand why they were put in place.
The virus felt so frightening back then. So unexpected.
And if public health officials made some mistakes — you might be convinced, by this point, that they kept schools closed too long — you’re willing to cut them some slack.
People like infectious disease chief Anthony Fauci were doing the best they could with the information they had. They were following the science. And we got to the other side in better shape than we might have.
But if there’s something comforting in this story — even a little triumphant — there’s just one problem: It’s almost completely wrong.

It is quite irksome to see this after getting screamed at for several years that I wanted to cause the deaths of thousands by not supporting lockdowns. One person I know found the strength to apologize to me privately for vilifying me in public. I accepted the apology but the rest of the people are pretending that nothing happened and that they all kind of knew the truth the whole time. I don’t need apologies. Instead, I’d like it if they asked, “wait, but how did you know all this before we did?” I’d share the methodology, and this would help them avoid being duped in the future. Every day there’s a new version of the COVID propaganda. And they get caught by it every single time. This is the real problem. They learned nothing and can get scammed in perpetuity.

Covid showed me firsthand how cruel humans can be towards each other, and for no reason at all. Like that Stanford electric shock experiment on a mass scale. The (misattributed) Voltaire quote is apt: “Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”

We have plenty of grifting DEI, or legalized crony capitalism. It’s one of the main complaints that Musk has about SA because he refuses to pay the kickbacks needed for Starlink to operate.
