Thunberg Games

Does anybody have an explanation for why Israel stopped the Greta Thunberg boat? What is the purpose? What’s the big deal if she does get to Gaza?

She’d demand the tunnels to be eco-friendly, and that’ll cost Israel another 5B in “humanitarian aid” 🙂

Because the idiot might have gotten herself killed by moving into a combat zone, and Israel’s enemies would have had a field day blaming Israel for it.

      She’d happily Rachel Corrie herself.

Granted, back when I was young and stupid and sympathetic to the ‘palestinian’ cause, Corrie was what changed my mind on it. But lots of gullible young things still see her as a martyr in a righteous cause.

I would have loved seeing Greta interact with Gazans. A wasted opportunity for many fun memes.

eh. She’s an idiot, but I don’t actually hate her or want to see her die horribly.

Hasn’t Gaza been under a blockade since Hamas took over? An activist flotilla was already stopped as long ago as 2010.

But why, though? Why not let “activists” have the experience they so crave and richly deserve.

Same reason Israel doesn’t let any independent journalists in: the world would get to see what it actually looks like on the ground, without the IDF filter.

I’m starting to wonder what planet that world inhabits because I haven’t noticed anything but “5 trillion Gaza babies murdered, raped and eaten by IDF” for years. That’s pretty much the entire media discourse in the US and Spain. Maybe it’s different in other countries, and I’d like to hear which ones.

Sure. Won’t it be nice to let independent journalists in so we can know what’s true and what’s the lie? The reason Israel is locking international journalists out (and killing local ones) can’t be that there’s so little to see.

Is there such a thing as an independent journalist?
