Insufficient Devotion

As I read JK Rowling’s new Cormoran Strike novel, I never cease to be amazed by how profoundly leftist the author’s every sensibility is. Yet she’s been vilified by the Left because even that kind of complete devotion is insufficient.

  1. She quietly slaughtered many of their sacred cows in her children’s fiction. Some of the Left have a vague inkling of the damage she did.

Her adult novels are utterly inconsequential in comparison.

  2. I agree, she’s very left-wing and a very vocal supporter of the Labour Party in the UK (or was till she spotted the anti-feminist trans support there).
I believe it links to her having written the first Harry Potter whilst on benefits with a young child, writing in cafes in Scotland because she couldn’t afford heating (and writing this I don’t know why she didn’t use libraries, unless she’s aware of the sort of people who populate most Scottish libraries).

Anyway, I disagree with Joanne on almost everything except:
    1) She chooses to pay full UK taxes (indeed, full Scottish taxes which are higher than the English ones) which shows moral courage which I can support

    2) She opposes Scottish independence – which means she realises that breaking up the most successful political Union the world has ever seen would be a mistake (1707 Act of Union for the win, even if it did require massive bribery and the failure of the Darien Scheme) (and yes I am including the 1781 Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union in that comparison of political Union – because the United Kingdom has not needed to avoid cessation by force)

    3) Her understanding of the perils of allowing children to be sterilised, women to be ogled and assaulted and female sport to be undermined through the trans agenda
