OK, so let’s recap the results of the election. Dems win everything while Republicans bicker about who’s the biggest racistsexist.

Mostly predictable. Trump has never had coattails and while he destroyed a lot of republican party human capital/infrastructure (not a bad thing, not much there worth keeping) he hasn’t really built (or encouraged others to build) anything to take its place.
His followers and supporters are more interested in intramural squabbles for clout than winning and a good chunk of the current right are transparent grifters or probably undercover enemies (looking at Tucker).
The current democrats are awful but they have some kind of party discipline and that counts for more than a charismatic leader who leaves carnage in his wake.
…and his preoccupation with the Middle East plays well with the donor class but alienates potential voters, without which the donors don’t mean much.

Trump has been waaay too focused on foreign issues from bombing Iran, supporting Israel, erratic china trade policy, trying to make up with Putin, and now potentially bombing Venezuela.
He took a “good” economy from Biden and is not doing much to improve things. It’s concerning.
