Fake Peace Deals

Ukrainians have agreed to every single peace deal proposed since Trump got elected. Every single one. But guess why there’s still no peace?

Hmm, I guess you can’t be peaceful on somebody else’s behalf. After endless negotiations, Russia tanks every single one of the peace deals. After which the Trump administration proceeds to create another peace deal. Which once again is tanked by Russia. The many identical loops of this process, however, are not pushing the Trump administration towards any realizations.

What do I want Trump to do, you’ll ask?

I want the administration to pass at least one piece of legislation that will improve life in our country. I can think of long lists of legislative acts that would be of great help. To Americans.

In less than a year, Republicans will most certainly lose the Congress. This means, there will be no useful legislation coming out for years. We need the coming 12 months to be a legislative extravaganza. A whole year has already been wasted. Let’s not waste even more.

I don’t think my position is unreasonable.

      1. We know who to thank for this. In 2009, Gaddafi signed an agreement with Italy that included joint naval patrols to intercept migrants and the return of those intercepted back to Libya. Irregular migration from Africa reportedly dropped by nearly 75%. After the fall of Gaddafi (to please Israel), migration flows increased significantly, with an estimated 400,000 Libyans traveling to Italy between 2014 and 2017.

        Israel is a major contributor to the migrant problem in europe.

      I go more with the scenario that (western) Europe has yet to really recover from WWII. It’s lost the cultural confidence needed to carry out real policy and so fidgets around wtih US cast off ideas…

    Europeans want to live in a make-belief world that does not exist. “Fidgeting with US cast off ideas” because they’ve drunk the Kool Aid of “We are still a great power”, throwing temper tantrums because the adults in the room refuse to take them seriously.

      The problem is more that they’re terrified of the idea of being a great power, or, since the ‘great power’ idea is kind of inherently stupid and outdate, terrified of looking out for their own interests in an assertive way.

      France talked about sending French troops to Ukraine and then chickened out for reasons that have never been explained.

      Germany and the UK can’t even get up to that level of pathetic.
