This again? Is the economy that bad?
We are going in circles and it’s sad to watch.

Still think I was off-base when I was explaining the widespread support of Putin among MAGA republicans with them literally identifying with the Russians? Superpower-to superpower… So that denying the Russians the “right” to their sphere of influence is an abomination beause it ultimately questions the US entitlement to the US sphere of influence…
You personally may be a consitent isolationist, but significant fraction of MAGA clearly are not.

As I said, the moment I find a MAGA Republican who likes any of this and is not turning anti-Trump over it, I’ll report this unusual occurrence here. As it is, I have seen zero “voted for this” reaction to this clown show. Because everybody knows that it’s simply a way not to deliver on the economy and immigration.

And I’m not an isolationist. I want domestic issues to come first, like 99% of voters but I’m not an isolationist because that is dumb.

And besides, it is just pissing off the Danes for no good reason ;-D

It’s just stupid. Alienating the good guys and sucking up to the bad guys.
The idea that there are crowds of MAGAs super pleased with this freakshow disregards the polls which show that Trump’s support is collapsing. Not that he seems to care.

For people who elected Trump to drain the swamp having no control over Trump’s version of the swamp (if voters do not want something happening but it keeps happening, there must be some powerful interests involved) must be very embarrasing…
I understand what you are trying to say, but I think right-wing intellectuals ultimately have the same problem as the left-wing ones. They imagine some kind of utopia, but the practical implementation turns out very differently. Because both types of intellectuals assume that their side’s politicians and regular people are much smarter, psychologically healthier, have more integrity, etc, than they actually are.

The left-wing ones got everything they wanted from their elected leaders, though. What did they not get? If we got 10% of what they did, that already would be amazing.
Imagine what the left would get, the total wipeout, the purges, the persecution if the equivalent of Charlie Kirk happened to the Left. And what did we get? Nothing. And it’s like that with everything.
We are sitting here, taking bets on who the next right-wing star to be assassinated is going to be. Contrast that with what the left got for George Floyd.
So no, it’s not both sides.
