Anti-white

At least somebody gets it:

The whole idea of the “Global South” which is incongruously led by Russia is about this form of ethnic resentment. Why Russians decided to turn non-white is completely beyond me but there you have it.

  1. Most of the “global south” is in the tropics. I think extreme cold is a much of a handicap for Russia as heat is for Nigeria, with the additional problem of lack of warm water ports.

The furthest south countries like Argentina and SA are the most developed countries on their continents. SA’s subtropical climate has some of the mildest temperatures in the world.

    1. The very cold areas of Russia are mostly uninhabited anyways. And their warmer areas are as much of a mess as anything. It’s really not the climate that’s causing their problems because look at Finland. Same climate, same genetics, vastly different results.

      1. Finland has some challenges keeping their ports open in winter, but they’re not landlocked like most of Russia.

          1. It’s a huge issue. China developed by moving their population to the factories in the coastal cities. Russia doesn’t have any coastal cities.

              2. Russia is the largest country in the world with most of it uninhabited. How one can conclude on this basis that it’s territory that Russia wants will remain a mystery forever.

              3. Canada is a larger territory than the US with most of it uninhabited. The problem is that most of it is worthless arctic wasteland.

The russian government does not operate on the principle of “the best solution”… the only principle is more money and power for those at the top. Nothing else.

“they are going to try to acquire as much territory as they can”

Surkov doctrine IIRC, there was a (now memory-holed) statement of principles put out sometime between 2005-2010 or so that said that russia must invade and conquer areas of other countries because that’s what russia does. Nothing strategic involved, just invasions for the sake of invasions.

    1. Exactly. The war isn’t means to an end. The war is the goal. Why do they wage war? To be at war. Their goal is achieved by being in a state of war.

Yet Canada is far more prosperous than russia which is extraordinarily rich in resources. What holds russia back is the ideology of the government which requires that most people live in grinding poverty.

russia could be incredibly prosperous but that’s not a goal of russians.

    1. That’s exactly what I’m saying. Canadians, Finns and Russians take very similar starting circumstances and end up in very different places.

Which proves my long-time contention that people are not replaceable widgets.
