Accidental Promotion

The guy is a clinical moron. There is no equivalence between these countries at all. Britain and France are actual partners. Israel is an American project. Israel is completely dependent on the U.S. for its survival. The U.K. and France are not. Has anybody managed to inform JD who is actually in the G7? There was a G7 summit 3 seconds ago. Might there be a reason why Israel did not show up as a member? Why it would be deeply ludicrous even to consider such a notion?

What Vance is saying is a dream come true for Israel. It’s a massive promotion, and the dude is so unintelligent he has no idea what an enormous gift he is giving the very people he’s trying to demote.

  1. On his second presidency Trump has surrounded himself by idiot YES men and women, and honestly this was a big mistake on his part. His first administration he had better advisers and as a result more cohesive and consistent policies. Now it’s just stupidity all over the place. I feel a James Mattis or Mark Esper would have stopped him from going into Iran. Even Pence and Barr were moderating voices.

This is the problem with these egomaniac leaders, they just can’t stand people saying no to them or showing them how stupid their ideas can be.

In one sense, he’s engaging in normal diplomacy-speak where every non-hostile country is referred to as a partner.

In another, yeah, in many ways Israel is at least partly a charity case for wealthy American Jews who use their donor status to pressure parties into supporting it. I’ve never heard any convincing argument for any particular benefit that the US gets from supporting Israel (apart from amelioration of negative extermalities that come from unquestioning support of Israel).

Today, unconfirmed reports that Hormuz are closed again because of Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

I’ve read that Israel absolutely doesn’t want a peace deal and will sabotage any that seem to be made. So… there’s that.

    1. Israel’s pouting over the peace deal has been insane, and Israel is doing everything to sabotage it. It’s been mostly successful in that. Somebody needs to put it back in its place, and I’m not saying that in a mean or negative way. I’m simply saying that there needs to be a realistic approach to the balance of powers between us and Israel. For whatever reason, the hands seem incapable of even thinking in that direction. I think he’s cucked and dim. I’m not seeing that intellect that everybody is praising in him.

      1. I’m voting for Marco Rubio. I can just imagine looking at my colleagues with wide-open, naïve, outraged, stupid eyes and telling them, “What do you mean? You are not going to support the first Hispanic president?”
